Stop listening to your friends when they say it's 'Impossible'

It's impossible for them...not you!

At one point, computers were impossible, and so was flying an airplane, but here we are!

Do you know what's the worst? When you are jazzed up about a dream or goal and share it with someone, they tell you it's impossible. 

People only consider things impossible because we underestimate our cognitive or physical abilities. We create impossibilities.

When someone poo poo's on your idea, it's important to remember that they share their opinions from their thoughts and experiences.

They tell you your goals are "impossible" because they don't have the guts to do what you're doing. Of course, they're right; it is impossible. But only for them.

They'll give you reasons that you shouldn't do it. But, secretly, you know they don't believe in you or themselves.

And here's the kicker — it's not their job to believe in you.

That's right, read that again. 

It's not their job to believe in you. 

Nope, not your mom, dad, sister, partner, or friends — none of them.

It's YOUR job to believe in yourself. Without having any evidence, your goal is going to work. 

To believe in yourself, you must shift your inner state first. 

Changing your internal state creates huge ripple effects on how you see your reality from the inside out.

Four steps in believing your goal is possible.

  1. Notice: It involves clarifying what is currently happening inside your mind. 

  2. Question: Question these 'negative' thoughts we've just brought into our awareness. Ask yourself, is it true? Follow up with an answer and an argument why that belief is BS.

  3. Reframe: Time to direct your brain to a more productive place. Ask yourself: What belief, thought, or way of being would better serve my desired outcome? 

  4. Repeat: Commit to doing this daily for 30 days on ONE belief and notice how your internal state shifts.

Of course, this isn't a quick fix, and you must practice it daily. We have spent decades forming our unique belief systems, so changing them at a deep level will require work and repetition. 

Working to create awareness, question continually, and reframe our internal dialogue enables us to change our state in the long term.

It takes the same energy to believe something is possible as it is to believe something is impossible, so you've got nothing to lose and everything to gain.
