You hear this saying a lot - trust the process.

But what does it mean? T the P.

My clients and I love to say T the P because it represents surrendering and letting go of attachment and expectations to the outcome or results.

It's letting go of how you think things are supposed to work out and embracing the messy middle. 

Now a big part of trusting the process also means trusting yourself.

Trusting you can do something even if you don't have proof.

Trusting that you will follow through on the commitments you've made to yourself.

Trusting that you'll have your own back even when things don't work out as you hoped.

Trusting that you can make mistakes and still be successful.

Trusting the things you say to yourself might not be true.

How to trust the process:

  1. Focus On What You Can Control: There's so much out of our control, and we often feel anxious because we are trying to control circumstances. So instead, turn your focus inward and focus on what you think, how it makes you feel, and the actions you take or don't take.
  2. Embrace Failure + Apply What You Learn:  We learn at a very early age that failure is something we must avoid, but the truth is all success is built on a foundation of failures and mistakes. When you apply what you learn from your mistakes, you become unstoppable.
  3. Enjoy YOUR Process: Instead of looking outside yourself for the HOW — go within. Ask yourself what's the next best step. The magic is in the journey, not the destination, so let go and relish in the wonder of being a human.
